wheeeeeeeeeeee sewing!

20 Aug 2008 In: Uncategorized

so Jason recently got a sewing machine so that we could make seat cushions for his awesome seats that he recently made.

I have a general idea as to the construction of the seat cushions but I’d like better directions just to make sure I’m going about this right. in my search for “how to sew seat cushions” I found this site! Burda Style is an ‘Open Source’ sewing site, members can upload patterns and share how-to’s and various other things. I’m very excited to try my hand at other projects outside of car stuff. I used to sew skirts and purses in high school until I broke the sewing machine ):

wish me luck!

hooray the beach!

we made the 3 hour trek out to ocean shitty on saturday. we of course pit stopped at crazy ray’s (two weekends in a row!), Jason fixed my door lock problem and possibly my SAI problem. we didn’t actually care about the beach, we mostly wanted to go on a long relaxing drive and get our photobooth photo (that’s four summers in a row!). it was good to relax and soak up some sun but aruba changed our perspective of the beach (mine has always been skewed but growing up on a tropical island will do that to you). all in all it was an awesome weekend.

I have learned to quietly squeal in excitement so as not to annoy the hell out of Jason (;

and yes, saturday night, we were both out cold by 9:30

as can be seen on loldogs

wow.

a year and two weeks ago I moved out of my parent’s house and in with Jason.

all of my worldly possessions fit into my car (honda). I grew up with three siblings, we weren’t very outwardly social due to…well I don’t really know why we were the way we were. I’m very used to having shared living spaces/not having personal space so moving in with Jason was no big thing. Jason on the other hand is an only child. He’s used to having “Jason time” whenever he needs it. my moving in changed everything. we’re pretty much joined at the hip, inseparable, if he’s there I’m there and vice versa. it’s rare when one of us is out on our own (Nathaniel and Ashleigh, I swear Jason actually exists!)

I can’t believe I’ve been living with Jason for over a year now. the adjustment period wasn’t too long but every now and then Jason tends to crawl out of his skin. I’m getting better about reading him and knowing I should get involved in some quality “girl time”, usually out of the house. it’s not that Jason loves me any less or can’t stand me, you just get used to being an individual and having your own space that you reach a threshold and need quiet time.

not to sound absolutely cliche, but wow. time flies by.

let’s go to the beach!

ShopStyle

We are going to the beach on Saturday for a little one day trip (with a pit stop at Crazy Ray’s again, hooray junk yard excursions!). I wish I was wearing even half of this outfit I put together over on ShopStyle
. Actually I have the sunblock and bathing suit in silver. Aside from that I’ll be rocking my BCBG aviators and a little cover up top. Photos to follow on Sunday!

OMGZ NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Harry Potter 6 Pushed Back to Summer ‘09!

Source: Warner Bros. Pictures, ComingSoon.net

Warner Bros. Pictures today announced that it has moved back the release date of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from November 21, 2008 to Summer 2009. The sixth installment of the blockbuster “Harry Potter” franchise will now open day-and-date domestically and in the major international markets on July 17, 2009. The announcement was made by Alan Horn, President and Chief Operating Officer, Warner Bros.

In making the announcement, Mr. Horn stated, “Our reasons for shifting ‘Half-Blood Prince’ to summer are twofold: we know the summer season is an ideal window for a family tent pole release, as proven by the success of our last ‘Harry Potter’ film, which is the second-highest grossing film in the franchise, behind only the first installment. Additionally, like every other studio, we are still feeling the repercussions of the writers’ strike, which impacted the readiness of scripts for other films—changing the competitive landscape for 2009 and offering new windows of opportunity that we wanted to take advantage of. We agreed the best strategy was to move ‘Half-Blood Prince’ to July, where it perfectly fills the gap for a major tent pole release for mid-summer.”

guess the movie!

You are my sun!
My moon!

My starlit sky.
Without you. I dwell in darkness.

hooray japanese food!

13 Aug 2008 In: Uncategorized

it’s been a bad for you japanese food day: wasabi rice crackers (cleared my sinus!), miso flavored sapporo ichiban ramen, and one small bag of chocolate pocky. the cup of green tea was the only remotely healthy thing I’ve had so far today. /:

another fun weekend?

I’m hoping we will be able to make it out to the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair this weekend. It ends this Saturday so it’s now or wait until next year. Having never been to a fair (that I can recall) I’m very excited about this.

hooray Montgomery County Agricultural Fair!

this past weekend was quite possibly one of the most jam packed weekends we’ve had in a while. almost as jam packed as the wedding!

the weekend started out with Long and I in the studio late friday night working on our product photography portfolios:

still needs a little bit of work, doesn’t help that I’m editing these on a lapie laptop

Saturday morning on our way to the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore, we found ourselves in College Park (for the eightybagillionth time this month) getting new rub strips for Lucy. on a whim we decided to pit stop at Crazy Ray’s in Jessup to see if they had any cabby’s in the yard or other vw’s to pull parts from. we lucked out and saw enough cabby’s to make it worth coming back the next morning.

big thank you to Carly for inviting us to the Maryland Science Center!! we had a great time and definitely plan on coming back to check out the planetarium among other things.

we got to see huge bats, cool snakes, vegetable car racing, and make a little home for our super gross meal worm (that I simply refused to touch, I have bad memories with meal worms from elementary school)

this lovely lady was playing a game of peek-a-boo with us

I’m hiding! you can’t see me!

peek-a-boo!!

I need a new hiding space…

ok game’s over. thanks for playing!

cooool spaaaaaaaace!

aaaaaaaw we’re ghey (;

I like turtles!

oh hey guys…

then we got to see what the sun REALLY looks like without the color distortion from the sky, looks like a yellow school bus and extremely extremely hot.

bmore is kind of cute…. hmmm…

sweet! a floating earth!

the awesome veggie cars

I knew the zucchini would win! it was the biggest and most bottom heavy

you can see our little guy! I forgot what his name is

ooooh science! it looks so cool!

oh noes! run!

om nom nom nom!

my boobear!

it’s good to remember we can all be kids when we need to be

boobear’s drawing skills < my drawing skills

xoxoxoxox!

Sunday we woke up far too early for a sunday morning and headed BACK up to bmore to go to Crazy Ray’s

around noon I headed out to Winchester to see the lovely Genevieve. unfortunately half way there it started raining and I had to pull over to put the top up. it proceeded to rain almost the entire time we were there. if we were outside it was raining but once we went inside to hide from the rain it would stop. very bizarre. thank you for having me over Genevieve! (: can’t wait to see you again (:!

oh...kate?

I like flats, preferably ballet. I miss the bar exercises. Kim is talking about broken driers. I'm excited about the weekend but mostly about the summer. I can't wait until I have a dub of my very own. Sorry Honda but you just don't do it for me. I peeked at the lolcats over at ICanHasCheezburgr. I'm not the biggest fan of lemon cake but red velvet and dark chocolate cupcakes with icing made from scratch are quite delicious. You can find scratch in the back but you have to ask for 'Lou' at William Sonoma. I went to the one in the Reston Town Center.

Bang! Bang!
